About us

In the construction of the museum, the Treasury Department contemplated on the history of Wat Sungkwej School of printing, as it is the first school to systematically teach the practice of printing in Thailand. It was also previously a printing house for textbooks. With the history, a replication of an old day classroom was created along side an on going exhibition aimed to propagate knowledge of the history of printing in Thailand. This is divided into sections for the public to come and experience as they are pleased.

Interesting facts about Banglamphu
Get to know the past and present of the charming old neighborhood

It used to be “Wat Sangwet Printing School” before being transferred to “Khurusapha Printing House”. However, the Bang Lamphu community saw the importance of the building and the history that they did not want to fade away. They joined together to fight against the demolition of the building. They also helped push for the registration of the Khurusapha Printing House as an ancient site by the Fine Arts Department in 2001.
